An Egg !

Day 23, and our first egg has been laid! Marge spent a long time outside today — from 7am to 7pm. I wonder what she was up to? The egg was left unattended for quite a while, but all is good and well. More eggs are surely on the way! 0:

Magpies Again..

Day 22, and Marge is definitely getting bothered by the cheeky magpies. She tries to leave her nest three times in the video below, and you can hear the beating wings of a magpie outside. Poor Marge — let’s hope they leave her in peace soon 0:00 /0:19

Day 21, and Marge left her nest today from 6am to 3pm. On her return, you can hear magpies calling out in this video — and Marge looks bothered. Are they disturbing her? 0:00 /0:14 1×

New Egg Area

Day 20, and Marge has collected enough feathers to arrange them into their own dedicated egg space — very fluffy and just right for a clutch of eggs 0:00 /0:12 1×

Early Out, Early Nap

Another Vanishing Act

Fluffy Finds

Morning Routine

Feathering the nest

Sleeping overnight in nest

A visit from Homer?

Day 9 and we had a visit from another bluetit. This could be Marge's mate and if so we have named him Homer. 0:00 /0:12 1×

Very active today, 150+ visits

Less moss & more fine grass

Day 7 of the build and Marge is bringing in more fine material, they are small straight strips of grass or it might be dried bamboo leaves. 0:00 /0:12 1×

Nest material building up

Day 6 and the nest material is building up and Marge is spending more time putting it into shape. 0:00 /0:12 1×

More cleaning, less building

Day 4 and the build seems to have slow down and instead Marge is pecking and cleaning the floor of the nest box. 0:00 /0:12 1×

The building method

Day 3 and the back-kick and flutters are starting to shape the moss and grass, but sometimes it ends up covering Marge's head. 0:00 /0:12 1×

Moss & back-kicks
